I just came back from a party, it's hard to feel professional.

[ that's a lie, she's always professional, though she'll take a moment to appreciate the video with intellectual interest. It's like a documentary, or an art installation, hardly a thing to be distracted by.

Of course, that's subjective. ]

They're proposing a mission review and communication system. Points of contact will be reviewing plans for expeditions; going over what can potentially go wrong; and agree on procedures on what to do if that happens.

The point of contact will remain behind, and stay behind, so that they can be available if needed, either to provide up to date information, recommend solutions or send a rescue party. While this doesn't account for emergency situations where communication devices can't be used, the primary aim is to keep those left behind from recklessly jumping in to help on their own.
